EMERSON COMMUNITY/GORMAN ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION:
For those of you that travel Gorman Road, Howard County has posted a sign showing road closure. For details, please call 410.313.3637. The recording states that the road closure will begin on June 21st and provides details and the alternate route information.
Please stay informed and please call the above number for periodic checks.
Always drive with caution in the area and follow the construction zone signs.
TEXT OF THE VOICE RECORDING:
A portion of Gorman Road between Murray Hill Road and Skylark Boulevard will be closed to through traffic beginning on or about Saturday June 21st.
During the closure Gorman Road improvements will include construction to straighten the 90-degree curve and replacement of an old storm water culvert. A pedestrian tunnel will connect the Wincopia Farms development to Gorman Crossing Elementary and Murray Hill Middle Schools.
Weather permitting, the work will be completed by mid-August.
