Please join the Emerson Safety and Neighborhood Watch Committee on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM for a community National Night Out Ice Cream Social at the Emerson Clubhouse.
It will be an evening of delicious ice cream, moon bounce, cotton candy, fun-filled activities, gift card giveaways, live music and public safety demonstrations for the entire community. You will have the opportunity to climb aboard and explore public safety apparatus such as an ambulance, fire engines, mobile command units and much more.
Come out to meet McGruff the Crime Dog, local locksmiths and security alarm vendors, Howard County Delegates, candidates who are vying for Maryland Senate seats, Howard County police officers, Maryland State Troopers, first responders, and other community organizers.
What Is National Night Out?
National Night Out is a community-police awareness event conducted yearly in the United States on the first Tuesday in August.
Purpose
The purpose of the Emerson Safety and Neighborhood Watch Committee holding a National Night Out Ice Cream Social is to:
- Promote community safety awareness
- Educate the community in the areas of drug and crime prevention
- Generate support and participation in the Emerson Safety and Neighborhood Watch Committee anti-crime initiatives
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
- Howard County's NNO events will kick off at Harper's Choice Village Center in Columbia at 6 pm. A complete list of HoCo events has been posted on the County web site.
