Last Halloween we had a semi-impromptu Block Party, with hot dogs left over from the Autumn Walk Picnic roasting on a brazier to complement the Halloween treats being passed out to everyone visiting our neighborhood.
Many people also brought Potluck contributions of food and drink.
It was so much better than waiting huddled in our homes for the doorbell to ring! :)

Halloween in 2014
This year, a group of your neighbors are expanding the concept to add a Chili Cook-Off in front of Allie and Daphna's houses (9832 and 9834), so start getting your recipes together...
Please let us know if you plan to set up additional activities on Halloween

The plan so far:
Date: Halloween (October 31, 2014)
Time:
5 PM - 5:45 PM (set-up)
6 PM - 7:30 PM Chili Tasting and Voting
6 PM - 8:30 PM Halloween Block Party
- Bring your candy, potluck contributions of food/drink, and chairs to Allie/Daphna at 9832/9834 by 5:30 PM (sunset will be about 6 PM)
- Bring your Chili Cook-Off entries to Allie (9832) between 5 PM and 5:30 PM
- There will be two chili categories: vegetarian and meat
- Please bring your chili in a slow cooker/crockpot
- Give your chili a name to inspire the voters, and write it on a card in front of your entry!
- The chili tasting and voting will last until 7:30 PM
- Throughout the evening, come by to get some food and drink, socialize, and (if you're a munchkin) collect some Halloween candy!
How to Register for the Chili Cook-Off:
- Go to the Halloween RSVP form [Note: We ran out of room for crockpots so we had to close the chili competition!]
- Fill out your name and house number
- Pick a category (meat or vegetarian)
- Bring your chili to Allie's house on Halloween!
